YOGIS: THREE STATES OF MEDITATION
According to the yogis, the self, that is, man, is controlled and dominated by the three states of nature.
1. If a person is under the influence of ignorance, he will want to get a certain type of sensory enjoyment. For example, if a person is under the influence of ignorance, he may want to sleep or be anesthetized;
2. If a person is under the influence of passion, he may want to enjoy sex;
3. If a person is under the influence of kindness, he may enjoy a peaceful day in the park or in the countryside.
Therefore, all these situations are determined by the nature of human desire, which influences dominates his state in nature.
According to the yogi, as long as one is still dominated by the three states of material nature, namely, ignorance, passion, and kindness, he is not free - he has not yet been freed from the fetters of material desires. To be free from material desire, he must be free from the influence of these three states of nature. Everyone is blinded by ignorance, passion, and kindness. However, at any given moment, one of the three always dominates.
1. Ignorance is the worst state, and the result of this state is madness, illusion, delusion, and laziness.
2. Passion is better than ignorance, but it means great persistence, an uncontrollable desire, pursuit, and intense effort.
3. The good state is more pure and radiant than other states. People in this state cultivate and develop wisdom, but they are restricted by the concept of happiness.
