YOGA MEDITATION AND GET YOUR BODY READY
YOGA MEDITATION AND GET YOUR BODY READY
Traditionally, yogis practice asanas to prepare the body for meditation. It makes the body strong and flexible and allows it to sit upright during meditation.
If you find it hard to go straight into meditation, or if your body is sluggish and you feel weak during meditation, you may want to add some stretching exercises to your meditation practice.
If you are already doing yoga, you can do some of your favorite asanas before sitting down to meditate.
If yoga isn't your thing, you can also do some gentle stretching exercises before meditation to wake up your body and prepare for meditation.
Maybe you can do some other physical things to support your meditation. If you take a shower first, you'll feel better and more alert. Maybe drinking coffee before you meditate gives you too much caffeine, so you'd better meditate first.
There is no right or wrong way, just pay attention to whether there are any physical movements that can help you feel calmer, more awake, and ready for meditation, whether it's a brief asana practice or waiting for your first cup of coffee after the meditation is done.
