Guru, the guru, is the transliteration of Sanskrit. The Sanskrit guru is a compound word, which is composed of "Gu" and "ru". "Gu" means darkness; "ru" means light, and it is called guru (guru) to exclude ignorance and darkness. Gurus represent sacred and supreme wisdom.
