MENTAL HEALTH AND FINDING PEACE

The Real Talk: Mental Health and Finding Peace

In today's world, mental health has become an acceptable and inspiring topic of discussion, and I have to say, to be honest, I'm very pleased with the shift. The fact is, we all struggle with mental health issues to some extent. Whether it's depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, or a momentary struggle, no matter how shiny one's life seems to be, everyone has times when they feel down or down.

When a person suffers from an emotional imbalance, the most isolating and damaging feeling is that they are alone -- and everyone else knows it. It's possible to be a positive, energetic, energetic person and still experience anxiety. You can see the glass is half full, but that doesn't mean you don't want to dump everything down the drain some nights. Each of us has our own battles and victories to fight and it's important, to be honest about where we are so that we can get to where we want to be.

Sometimes life becomes overwhelming and problems pop up. In these moments, a little tip in the toolbox can be helpful. So here are 7 simple things you can incorporate into your life to make you feel better. Add a few at a time and see if you notice a difference. There is no single answer to improving mood and reducing anxiety, but I have found these to be helpful, and I hope you do the same.

Here are 7 things you can do throughout the day to feel better:

- Drink a tall glass of water when you wake up. This will get your internal organs moving and allow you to rehydrate from a night's sleep.

- Spend 5 minutes quiet and 5 minutes gentle exercise/stretching in the morning. Put on some relaxing music or listen to some guided meditation. Don't be silent, but give yourself 10 minutes.

- Eat some green vegetables every day. Add kale to your smoothies, have a salad for lunch, and kale for dinner. Make a conscious effort to eat at least some green foods every day.

- Go outside for at least 10 minutes without distractions. Take a walk around your block. Go for a walk during your lunch break. Listen to the sound and feel the ground beneath your feet. We are lucky to live on this planet. Take a moment to appreciate it. Don't underestimate the power of games. Put on some music and dance around the kitchen. Run around with your dog or your neighbor's dog. Don't take yourself too seriously.

- Tell friends or family how much they mean to you. Gratitude is powerful.

- Instead of checking your phone before bed, spend 30 minutes digging into a book you've always wanted to read.

- Embrace yourself, give yourself a break, forgive yourself, and tell yourself that you are beautiful. Direct self-love exercises like this release hormones in the brain that help ease anxiety and stress. Keep showing up for yourself. Don't underestimate its importance.

I hope you find some peace in these tips. I want you to feel the ups and downs clearly and calmly. To settle down. Embrace it. When it passes, keep fighting for more. The world is full of opportunities for growth and expansion. Squeeze out as much as you can.
